The "Live Betting" section of Sportaza shows ongoing events with odds updated in real time; the site states that cash out is available on some bets and that some events are streamed, warning that the pictures may be delayed or interrupted. This guide explains what happens between the moment you tap an odd and the moment the bet is accepted, and how to assess a cash out offer. For the sportsbook's range of events and promotions, see Sportaza Sports Betting.
What happens when you confirm a live bet
Slip submission
The bet is sent with the odds visible at that moment.
Acceptance delay
The system waits a few seconds before accepting it. This lets the bookmaker avoid bets on actions that have already happened but are not yet visible to everyone (a goal just scored, a point just won).
Odds check
If the odds have changed in the meantime, the bet is either rejected or offered at the new odds, depending on the settings of the slip.
Acceptance or rejection
If the market is suspended during the delay (penalty, red card, break point), the bet is rejected and the stake stays in your balance.
Sportaza does not publish the length of the delay, which usually varies by sport and by the level of the competition. The figure may vary and must be checked on the platform: you can notice it from the time that passes between confirmation and outcome.
Odds changes: which setting to choose
Many sportsbooks let you choose how odds changes are handled during acceptance. There are typically three options:
| Setting | Effect | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| Do not accept changes | The bet is rejected on any change | When the exact odds are the reason for the bet |
| Accept only favourable changes | It goes through if the odds rise and stops if they fall | Recommended compromise for most bets |
| Accept all changes | It always goes through, even at lower odds | Rarely: you risk betting at odds you would not have chosen |
Check in the Sportaza bet slip settings which of these options are available and which one is active by default.
Streaming and real-time information
Streaming is available for some of the events; sources do not agree on the coverage (SportsBoom rules it out for traditional sports and reports it on most esports matches). Where there is no video, you follow the event through scoreboards and animated graphics, which show actions and statistics with a delay of a few seconds.
The delay is the point to understand: a TV broadcast, a radio or a results app may be faster than the bookmaker's stream. Anyone betting while "watching" the match on the site's stream always has slightly outdated information, and the acceptance delay is designed precisely to neutralise the advantage of those who have fresher information.
Cash out: how it works and what it is worth
Cash out closes a bet before the end of the event at the price offered by the bookmaker. The price follows the movement of the odds: if your selection has become more likely, the offer exceeds your stake; if it has become less likely, it returns only part of it.
An example
You stake €20 on a team to win at odds of 2.50 (potential winnings €50). In the 70th minute the team is winning 1-0 and the live odds on the same selection have dropped to 1.25. The "fair" value of the bet would be 50 ÷ 1.25 = €40; the cash out offer will be lower, because the bookmaker applies a margin. If you are offered €37, you are paying about €3 to close early. The calculation is only indicative: it is meant to show that cash out has a cost, not to estimate the exact offer.
Partial cash out
SportsBoom also reports partial cash out on Sportaza: you collect part of the value and leave the rest of the stake in play. It is useful for reducing risk without giving up the winnings entirely. Check in the "My bets" section whether the option appears for your bet.
When cash out is not available
- on the chosen market or event, if the operator does not offer it;
- during market suspensions;
- on bets placed with free bets or with some promotions;
- when an active bonus excludes it from the wagering requirement count.
Cash out and bonuses
Under the terms of many sports promotions, bets closed with cash out do not count towards the rollover. Before using cash out with an active bonus, check the rule in the promotion's terms.
Bet builder
The bet builder combines several outcomes of the same match in a single bet, for example "the home team wins", "over 2.5 goals" and "the centre forward scores". Outcomes of the same event are correlated (if a team wins with many goals, its striker is more likely to score), so the odds are not the simple product of the individual odds: the system calculates its own price, which takes the correlation into account and includes a margin that is usually higher than that of single bets.
Sportaza pairs the bet builder with a promotion (50% free bet up to €50): according to SportsBoom, if the first selection of the bet builder loses, you receive a free bet. The exact conditions (minimum number of selections, minimum odds, free bet expiry) must be read on the promotion page from your account.
Common mistakes in live betting
- Chasing losses: live betting offers a new market every few seconds, and the temptation to win back a lost bet immediately is the main risk of this format.
- Accepting all odds changes: you end up betting at odds very different from those you saw.
- Using cash out out of habit: every early closure has a cost, which adds up over time.
- Relying on the stream: it lags behind other sources and gives no informational advantage.
- Betting on an unstable connection: on a smartphone it increases rejections and bets accepted at worse odds (see Mobile version).
If you notice that you are betting live to win money back, or that you cannot stop at the end of a match, read the responsible gambling page.
Frequently asked questions
Why was my live bet rejected?
Because during the acceptance delay the odds changed or the market was suspended. The stake stays in your balance. You can try again at the new odds or choose a setting that accepts favourable changes.
Is Sportaza cash out available on all bets?
No. The site says it is available on some bets; it is not guaranteed on every market and it is suspended at critical moments of the event.
Does Sportaza stream matches?
For some of the events, with possible delays and interruptions as stated by the site. Coverage varies by sport and competition; esports appear to be among the events most often streamed.
Does the bet builder have lower odds?
The combined odds take into account the correlation between outcomes of the same match and are usually lower than the product of the individual odds; the built-in margin tends to be higher than on single bets.
