As of 8 October 2026 Sportaza states that it is run by Rocketship Ventures S.R.L. and authorised by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan (Union of the Comoros) under licence ALSI-202606064-FI2. Until at least October 2024 the brand was instead associated with a Curaçao company and licence 8048/JAZ. This page keeps the two sets of data separate.
Note on variability
The information on the operator and the licence may have changed over time. The data reported on this page was checked on 8 October 2026. When the official website changes operator or licence, we update the page and move the previous data to the historical section.
Current data
| Item | Data | Source | Checked on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company | Rocketship Ventures S.R.L. | sportaza.com footer | 8 October 2026 |
| Registration number | 3-102-921894 | sportaza.com footer | 8 October 2026 |
| Registered office | Mata Redonda, Sabana Oeste, San José (Costa Rica) | sportaza.com footer | 8 October 2026 |
| Authority | Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan (Union of the Comoros) | sportaza.com footer | 8 October 2026 |
| Licence number | ALSI-202606064-FI2 | sportaza.com footer; confirmed by Casino.guru | 8 October 2026 |
| Validation seal | Anjouan Gaming Board, linked to the sportaza.com domain | sportaza.com footer | 8 October 2026 |
| Second seal | Tobique Gaming Commission (Canada); licence no. 0000067 | Footer (seal); Casino.guru (number) | 8 October 2026 |
The footer adds that the site "has passed all regulatory compliance checks" and is "legally authorised to carry out gaming activities": this is a statement by the operator about its own licence, not an independent assessment, and it does not concern individual countries.
Interpretation The licence number contains the sequence "202606", which could indicate an issue or renewal in June 2026. We do not have an official document confirming the date of issue.
Historical data
| Item | Historical data | Source | Source date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company | Rabidi N.V. | Previous version of sportaza.ltd | 28 October 2024 |
| Registered office | Julianaplein 36, Willemstad (Curaçao) | Previous version of sportaza.ltd | 28 October 2024 |
| Licence | Curaçao, 8048/JAZ | Previous version of sportaza.ltd | 28 October 2024 |
The previous version of this site described that licence as "European": this was an error, because Curaçao is not part of the European Union. We correct it explicitly here.
The number 8048/JAZ corresponds to the "master" licence of Antillephone N.V., one of the entities that, until the 2024 reform, issued sub-licences to hundreds of operators. With the new Curaçao gaming law (LOK), which came into force at the end of 2024, the sub-licence system was superseded and operators had to apply for a direct licence from the Curaçao Gaming Authority or move to other jurisdictions, including Anjouan.
Interpretation Sportaza's move from Curaçao to Anjouan is consistent with this picture, but public sources do not allow it to be dated precisely or its reasons to be known. We treat it as context, not as an established explanation.

What an Anjouan licence is
Anjouan is one of the three islands of the Union of the Comoros, in the Indian Ocean, with its own autonomous government. For some years it has issued online gambling licences to international operators, and after the Curaçao reform it has become one of the jurisdictions chosen by operators that did not obtain or apply for the new Curaçao licence.
Presentations published by industry consultants describe issue times of a few weeks, low costs and an obligation for the operator to adopt anti-money-laundering policies, KYC procedures, game testing and responsible gambling tools. These are descriptions by people who sell licensing services and should be read with caution: we found no independent sources on the number of inspections carried out, the penalties applied, or a dispute resolution mechanism available to players.
| Aspect | EU authority (e.g. Malta) | Anjouan |
|---|---|---|
| Publicly documented complaint procedure to the authority | Yes | Not found |
| Transparency on inspections and penalties | High | Low |
The Tobique Gaming Commission seal
The Sportaza footer also shows a seal of the Tobique Gaming Commission (Canada), a gaming authority based in New Brunswick, Canada, which issues authorisations to online operators. Casino.guru reports the licence number 0000067 and AskGamblers names the Tobique Gaming Commission as Sportaza's licence. The commission's validation page explains the meaning of the seal: a green mark for a valid licence, a yellow warning for situations to be checked, a red cross for invalid licences.
This second seal does not change the picture: it is in any case a foreign authorisation and does not replace the licence required by the law of the country where you play.
How to check the licence yourself
Open the official website and scroll to the footer
Note the company name, registration number and licence number.
Click the authority's seal
An authentic seal opens a page on the authority's domain (not on the operator's) that shows the verified domain, the holder and the status of the licence.
Compare the data
The domain stated on the validation page must be exactly the one you are visiting, and the holder must match the company in the footer. Be wary of "mirror" sites with different domains.
Check the date
If the validation page shows issue or expiry dates, check that the licence is current.
A seal that is only an image with no link, or that leads to a page of the operator itself, is not a verification.
If the seal shows an invalid licence
If, when you click the seal, the validation page shows an expired or suspended licence or a different domain, do not deposit and, if you have a balance, request the withdrawal in writing immediately. Report it to us from the contact page: we will update this page after checking it. Remember that the seal must open a page on the authority's domain and not on the operator's.
What the licence does not guarantee
- It does not replace the licence required by the law of the country where you play.
- It does not provide a complaint procedure that is documented and easily accessible to the player.
- It does not replace reading the terms: withdrawal limits, bonus rules and grounds for closing the account are decided by the operator.

Frequently asked questions
Which licence does Sportaza have?
According to the official website footer checked on 8 October 2026, licence ALSI-202606064-FI2 issued by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan (Union of the Comoros). The footer also shows a seal of the Tobique Gaming Commission (Canada).
Does Sportaza still have the Curaçao licence 8048/JAZ?
No, according to the official website. Licence 8048/JAZ and the company Rabidi N.V. are historical data, still cited by outdated reviews. The number 8048/JAZ was the master licence of Antillephone N.V., under which many sites operated before the Curaçao reform.
Who is Rocketship Ventures S.R.L.?
It is the company named as owner and operator of Sportaza, registered under number 3-102-921894 and based in San José, Costa Rica. Casino.guru states that it was incorporated in 2021. We found no other verifiable public information on its corporate structure.
Does an Anjouan licence replace the licence required where I live?
No. An Anjouan licence does not replace the licence required by the law of the country where you play; check local rules before you play.
How do I tell whether the licence seal is authentic?
By clicking it: it must open a page on the authority's website showing the exact domain you are visiting, the holder's name and the status of the licence. An image with no link is not proof.
